When
I was in medical school and residency, I was taught that estrogen
replacement therapy did not cause weight gain. I was told that for female
patients who are post-menopausal, osteoporosis is inevitable. I was told
that Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) should be recommended for most
women after menopause.
As
a practicing physician I soon learned that all of that was wrong. Not only
wrong, it was dangerously wrong.
The
truth came with time, it came with the breakthrough research of Dr. Lee,
it came with treating thousands of women in my own clinic, and with six
years of study, charting and follow-ups.
For
years I have been actively treating symptoms normally treated with HRT
with Natural Progesterone Cream. This cream I
found relieves many symptoms related to PMS, pre-menopause, menopause,
post-hysterectomy, osteoporosis, breast cancer, infertility, migraines,
acne, skin care, menstrual irregularity and cramps.
Everything that HRT once claimed to do, only without the side-effects.
Using
Natural Progesterone Cream you can replace
the female human hormones with identical hormones in a balanced fashion. I
have been treating women for years in this manner with excellent results.
Why
would any Doctor put women on a regimen of synthetic estrogen or
synthetic progestin for the rest of their lives? Why subject them to
weight gain, increased risk for heart attacks and strokes, not to mention
breast cancer? Clearly every
Doctor should know by now that HRT is not the miracle cure it was once
thought to be.
Last
year the Journal of the American Medical Association reported the
results from a study, involving 16,000 healthy women aged 50 and over. The
study was scheduled to run for eight years but was stopped after five
because HRT was found to be causing an increase in heart attacks, strokes
and breast cancer. This caused a shockwave throughout the medical
community.
In May of this year, The New England
Journal of Medicine reported that HRT "had no clinically
meaningful benefits on health-related quality of life"
Also
in May this year, a study
published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found
that taking HRT doubles an older woman's risk of dementia, including,
Alzheimer's disease
For
those of us who have spend years developing, promoting and using alternate
methods to HRT the new research vindicates what we have been saying for
all along.
That
should be the end of it, right? RIGHT?
Far
from it, Doctors all over the Country are still over prescribing HRT.
Hormone replacement therapy is one of the biggest-selling drugs of all
time. HRT still has revenues in the billions.
You
need to take control of your own destiny.
If
your Doctor is telling you need to go on HRT or you are currently on HRT
then you need to consult with your Doctor right away and ask him if the
new research changes his recommended treatment for you. Ask him if he has
kept up on the latest research in natural hormone replacement therapy as a
safe alternate to HRT. Get a second opinion.
Don’t
be the next victim.
Already
some of the drug makers providing the drugs for HRT are involved in HRT
related class actions suits, already many major medical centers are
rethinking HRT. It will not get better, it will only get worse.
Educate yourself. Don’t be the next victim.
